Thanks so much for having prices that allowed us to have one of our best vacations yet in jamaica. Once on the resort you can not walk to any local attractions of any sort. The resortIt is definitely meant for families and not the single party people.
The resort is very large so plan to do a lot of walking. The beach is nice but there are several man made sand dunes which take a little bit away from the natural beauty. The multiple restaurant options were great as well so you did not feel as if you were eating at the exact same place every time.
My second favorite was the mexican restaurant. I was addicted to the fresh guacamole and it appeared everyone else was as well. I enjoyed the entertainment by the pool the best. I did not take advantage of any of the spa treatments but the prices were reasonable and the spa area itself was very nice.
It was not very comfortable at all and the room was a little musty. The jacuzzi and shower in the room were fabulous. We were looking for a getaway resort, mid-priced, for some sun and relaxation. We are experienced travelers and have been to several dozen resorts over the last twenty years or so.
Some of the dishes the lamb and the premium priced steak and lobster. The breakfast buffets left a lot to be desired. Many of the items were english themed perhaps because the majority of the people were from the british isles. The scrambled eggs seemed runny and things that should have been kept cold like yogurt were warm and liquid.
But, there was an omelets station and i got something made fresh for me each morning. The luncheon and snack places were adequate during the day. The usual chicken, fish and burgers menu sufficed. But, the soft ice cream machine wasn't working most of the time.
We missed that The guest beverage room where we could get juices and soft drinks was convenient Alcoholic drinks from the bar were good, with top brand liquors available, for the asking beach if you like snorkeling in the ocean it was a great place as there are many reefs right in front of the resort. If you like to swim or body surf it is a bit tricky for the same reason.
There are many water sports available as well. Traffic and separation between the activities was well maintained where one entered the water was kept carefully noted by demarcations, for the boats to enter and leave, as well as for swimmers.
It was very relaxing as there were few beach peddlers bugging you all the time which is the case in many resorts. There are many swimming pools five i think, that are kept clean and well maintained. However, none of them feature a swim up bar. The maid kept it very clean and well supplied.
There was also a blow dryer, iron and full size ironing board. We had two room service meals and both times the meals were timely, generous and delivered hot reasonably so. They sit you down, hand you a rum punch and let you relax while they check you in.
